Women Who Debate–FREE Camp

We aim to emphasize equity through a free camp that covers the cost of attendance, food, and other costs associated with debate camp. We also seek to empower and engage young women with communication skills that would be beneficial in debate, college, and future careers. Each day would have a different debate topic, led by both Duke and UNC professors, who would share their research and experience with participants.Debate Camp

Weekly Message–May 27-31, 2019

Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of May 27.

Memorial Day

School is closed tomorrow in honor of Memorial Day. We observe this day in remembrance of those who died in service of our country.

Daily Testing Schedule

We had a very smooth first day of testing. Your child received a daily testing schedule on bright red paper with their progress reports.  If students did not receive their schedule, they should check with their homeroom teachers. It is important that students know where to report each morning so that we can get testing started promptly.  Remember that students should get plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast each morning. Breakfast is served and available to all students free of charge in the cafeteria each morning.

Proctors Needed

We are still in need of volunteers to proctor.  Our heaviest days will be Tuesday, May 28th, Wednesday, May 29th, and Thursday, May 30th. Please contact Mr. Boston in the main office or sign up via the SCS website if you are able to assist.

Morning Announcements

We will not read morning announcements due to testing. If there are any important announcements for students, we will read them in the afternoons and also post them on my blog.
