Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of August 19.
The PowerSchool Parent Portal is now online and accessible for the 19-20 school year! If you have a returning student to Creative Studies, you can use the same login information you created last year. If your student is new to Creative Studies you will need to set up your Parent Portal account. Parents or guardians who have never created a Parent Portal account are strongly encouraged to do so as this is a very useful tool to monitor your child’s grades, attendance, and assignments, as well as communicate with teachers via email. Parents who have never created a Parent Portal account will need to come to the school in person during normal office hours with a photo ID to pick up the login information and account setup instructions for your child. We will not release this information without a photo ID, and it MUST be a parent/guardian who picks up the login information. Please email our data manager, Ms. Fleming, at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have an existing account and are locked out or have other technical issues.
Senior meetings with Ms. Settle continue this week. Parents chat with your student what was discussed in his/her senior meeting. Dates and times of meetings are posted on the High School Resource Wall, next to Ms. Barnes’ room, and in Ms. Stefan’s room.
Progress Reports go home with students Tuesday, August 20. Please review these with your child, sign each and return to school.
Wednesday, August 21 is a Teacher Workday. School is closed for students.
All students in grades 6-11 will participate in school pictures Friday, August 23. Picture envelopes were distributed during homeroom last week. All students will have a picture taken. Purchase of a picture package is not required. For questions, contact Ms. Bridges.
I have a bittersweet announcement in that Mr. Jackson one of our high school math teachers, has taken an assistant principal position in another district. Mr. Jackson is a founding member of SCS and we will miss him dearly but wish him well in his new leadership position. We are in the interview process and I will inform you when we have found a replacement.
Parents and students, previews of the SCS Cardigan and windbreakers are available on the SCS website. We will begin taking orders soon and more information is forthcoming.
Were you featured on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook??? You won’t know unless you follow or like us? Check us out on social media to see if you were caught doing something aMazing and to stay on top of all the SCS happenings!
Have a great evening from everyone at SCS where we practice the 4 C’s—Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Community.
