There will be a YMA meeting on Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. This is an important meeting because we will be having speeches for elections. There will also be step practice until 6:00 p.m.
Middle School Student Council will meet Thursday, November 1 in Mr. Lewis’ room. Rides must be ready for pick up at 5:00 sharp! Students running for office must have their information in the survey by Thursday!
On behalf of all the members of Jr. YMA & YMA, we would like to thank each of you who came out to the 1st Skate Wars. We will do it again soon!
Students, fee waiver requests were sent home with report cards. These were printed on yellow paper and are due to Ms. Tuck Thomas by Wednesday, October 31. If you are enrolled in an AP course or plan to take any SAT or ACT assessment this year, these forms must be on file with the school so that we can request and approve fee waivers.
Students are allowed to wear costumes on Wednesday. Costumes must follow the DPS Dress Code. Masks, hoods, hats, etc. are not allowed. Props and accessories need to remain at home. If you have a question about your costume, please see an administrator prior to Wednesday. You may also want to bring a regular change of clothes because if your costume is disruptive to our learning environment, Ms. Price will ask you to change. We allow costumes because this is something that our students enjoy; let’s use common sense so we can continue this SCS tradition.
Students: Do you have ideas about what would make our school better? Would you like to be able to tell administration? Ms. Price is starting a Principal’s student advisory group that will meet with her once a month to get your feedback. We will have a middle school group and a high school group and applications will be available Wednesday in the main office.
