This Friday will be the return of Karaoke Fridays—The Halloween Edition. So come participate, remember it is $2 to sing and $1 to request a song.


Attention freshmen & sophomores! If you would like to be on the Winter Formal Committee, please see Coach Barnes or Ms. Street. The Winter Formal for freshmen and sophomores will held on Saturday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. Look for more information to come!


Keep our Earth healthy! Students & staff are reminded to recycle & terra-cycle using the available bins in the front lobby and the cafeteria. Some example items for collection are:

— Baby and toddler food pouches and pouch caps

— Entenmann’s Little Bites and Little Bites Snackin’ Bites plastic pouches

— Plastic cereal bags and box liners

YMA will host the 1st Annual Skate Wars Friday, October 26, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Wheels Skate Park. We want you, your family, and friends to come out and show us what you got. This will be a class vs. class event as well. So come on out and rep your class and your school. The cost is $7 and you pay at the door.


CFNC will hold its annual FAFSA Day October 27, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at several locations throughout the state. If you or your parents need help completing the FAFSA, please consider attending one of the sessions held at Durham Tech, Duke or UNC.


High school students—The Emily K Center offers free college planning starting in the 9th grade through the College Game Plan program. Please visit the High School Resource Wall for more information.


On the site, you can sign up to attend a workshop or to receive 1:1 advice or support at the Emily K Center.
