New Announcements for Students

Cooking/Culinary Club will meet TODAY!

Middle School Student Council will meet TODAY in Mr. Lewis’ room. Rides must be ready for pick-up at 5:00 sharp. Anyone interested in donating toiletries and non-perishable food items for those impacted by Hurricane Michael please bring them to Mr. Lewis’ room (206). Middle School Student Council is collecting donations.

Students, remind your parents of our General PTSA meeting and information sessions tonight! The PTSA meeting and dinner start at 5:30 p.m. The information sessions (College Night, Instructional Supports, Identifying Depression, Emily K Center) will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Due to low participation, the NC A&T field trip has been canceled. Please see Ms. V. Barnes to complete a refund form.

This Friday will be the return of Karaoke Fridays—The Halloween Edition. So come participate, remember it is $2 to sing and $1 to request a song.

Attention freshmen & sophomores! If you would like to be on the Winter Formal Committee, please see Coach Barnes or Ms. Street. The Winter Formal for freshmen and sophomores will held on Saturday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. Look for more information to come!

Keep our Earth healthy! Students & staff are reminded to recycle & terra-cycle using the available bins in the front lobby and the cafeteria. Some example items for collection are:

— Baby and toddler food pouches and pouch caps

— Entenmann’s Little Bites and Little Bites Snackin’ Bites plastic pouches

— Plastic cereal bags and box liners

YMA will host the 1st Annual Skate Wars Friday, October 26, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Wheels Skate Park. We want you, your family, and friends to come out and show us what you got. This will be a class vs. class event as well. So come on out and rep your class and your school. The cost is $7 and you pay at the door.

CFNC will hold its annual FAFSA Day October 27, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at several locations throughout the state. If you or your parents need help completing the FAFSA, please consider attending one of the sessions held at Durham Tech, Duke or UNC.
