Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of July 16.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of our students for the first day of school tomorrow, Monday, July 16. School begins at 9:00 a.m. and drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. in the carpool line at the front of the school. Carpool maps are posted on the website and Facebook to explain how carpool works for new families.
We will have staff members available to assist students with getting to their classes when they arrive and assisting them with changing classes throughout the day.
For students who have bus questions, we will call students at designated times to work out any bus issues and communicate with parents to ensure that all students know their transportation arrangements.
For students who have scheduling issues, we will have staff members available to assist them also. The Schedule Change Request Form is electronic this year and will go live tomorrow. Laptop stations will be available during lunch periods for students who choose to request a change. The counselors will be available to assist. Our goal is to make sure that students have as smooth an opening as possible!
Forms to apply for free and reduced lunch may be picked up in the cafeteria and main office. Remember that you must complete these forms at the beginning of each school year even if you qualified last year.
This is a reminder to 7th grade parents that you must provide us with updated immunization records for your child. Students entering 7th grade are required to have the Tdap and meningococcal vaccines. If you have questions about these vaccines, please contact our school nurse, Nurse Snyder.
Students must have paid their $35 technology fee and returned their signed technology agreement before being issued a laptop. Teachers will explain and distribute the student handbook and technology agreement this week.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the PTSA table during Open House and joined PTSA! We still need your help! We have openings on the Board for a treasurer and secretary. There are many other ways to get involved also. If you are interested in serving, please complete the contact form at https://scsptsa.wordpress.com/contact/ on the PTSA blog or email directly at email@example.com.
DPS Community Education is accepting applications for our Middle School Before School Program. Pick up an application from the main office, Ms. V. Barnes, or see my blog. The Before School Program opens daily at 6:30 a.m.
Our website has been updated. Always check our website, my blog—Price’s Write—, our Facebook page, and Twitter for frequent updates about what’s going on at SCS.
Get lots of rest to prepare for tomorrow and have a great evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4c’s—Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community.
