Weekly Message–July 9-13, 2018

Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of July 9 and important information about the opening of school.

We will host Open House on Wednesday, July 11.  New students and their families are welcome to attend from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.  We have sessions for rising 9th graders and rising 6th graders and all other new students. Both sessions start promptly at 12:00 p.m.  Parents are welcome to stay. For our returning families, you are welcome to drop in anytime between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. to pick up schedules and visit classrooms. Representatives from Transportation, Child Nutrition Services, AIG, PTSA, & the Before-School Program will be on hand to answer any questions. You may pay your supply fee and pay for parking passes during Open House if you would like.

If you can’t make it to Open House and would like to pick up your child’s schedule, you may do so on Thursday or Friday during regular office hours, 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Our PTSA President, Ms. Tanisha Davis, and Vice-President, Ms. Aja Purnell-Mitchell, are ready to lead our dynamic parent, teacher and student group this year. They need your help! We have openings on the Board for a treasurer and secretary. There are many other ways to get involved also. If you are interested in serving, please stop by the PTSA table during Open House or complete the contact form at https://scsptsa.wordpress.com/contact/ on the PTSA blog or email directly at ptsa4scs@gmail.com.

The first day of school is Monday, July 16.  School begins at 9:00 a.m. and drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. in the carpool line at the front of the school.  Maps are available during Open House and will be posted on the website and Facebook to explain how carpool works for new families.

Our website has been updated.  Always check our website, my blog—Price’s Write, our Facebook page, and Twitter for frequent updates about what’s going on at SCS.

Have a great evening from everyone at SCS where we practice the 4 C’s—Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Community.
