Good Evening, SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of May 21, 2018.
Congratulations to our CLASSROOM that collected the most Box Tops during our BOX TOPS Fundraiser this school year. The winning classroom this year is Mr. Brotzman’s 9th Grade. This homeroom will receive a pizza party. Second Runner Up: Ms. Shelly’s 7th Grade homeroom. Third Runner Up: Ms. Gray-Taylor’s 6th Grade homeroom. Thank you for your participation in our BOX TOP Fundraiser and remember to continue to collect and submit your box tops all year to the front office.
Join us for a General PTSA meeting on Monday, May 21 at 5:30 p.m. where we will vote for Board positions for next school year.
Our Music and Audio Production Classes will present our end of the year music recital which they are titling the Bull City Coachella Live Concert and Awards by SCS Music. It will be held on May 22, 5:30 – 7:15 p.m. We will have performances and awards will be given for rapper, producer, artist, sound engineer, song writer of the year, and more!
We’re only a few days away from state testing. Testing will begin on Thursday, May 24. All teacher-made and district Spanish exams will begin May 31. It is important that students get restful sleep each night, a nutritious breakfast each morning, and start each day stress free. Remember that breakfast is available free to all students in our cafeteria. We are still in need of proctors. If you or someone you know are available to assist, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Anita Neville in the main office. There are only morning volunteer opportunities available.
Mark your calendars for Monday, May 28 when school is closed for the Memorial Day Holiday.
The 4th Annual YMA Banquet will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m. The location is Edison Johnson Park & Recreational Gym. The cost of the banquet is $25. See Coach Barnes for more details.
Have a great evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4c’s—Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community.
