Weekly Message–May 28 – June 1, 2018

Good Evening, SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of May 28, 2018.

School will be closed tomorrow in honor of Memorial Day where we remember those who have died in service to our country.

State testing will begin on Tuesday, May 29.  All teacher-made and district Spanish exams will begin June 4.  It is important that students get restful sleep each night, a nutritious breakfast each morning, and start each day stress free. Remember that breakfast is available free to all students in our cafeteria.  We are always in need of proctors.  If you or someone you know are available to assist, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Anita Neville in the main office.  There are only morning volunteer opportunities available.

The 4th Annual YMA Banquet will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m. The location is Edison Johnson Park & Recreational Gym. The cost of the banquet is $25. See Coach Barnes for more details.

National Junior Honor Society Induction ceremony is June 5 at 6:00 p.m. Inductee RSVP’s are due to Ms. Dix.

Senior parents, you are invited to observe the Senior Walk on Thursday, June 7 at 9:00 a.m. This is our opportunity to celebrate our seniors as a school as they don their caps and gowns and walk through the halls to the cheers of the middle schoolers and underclassmen.

Graduation Rehearsal is Thursday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m. at Riverside High School.

Please make note that Thursday, June 7 is the last day of school and school will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m.  Report cards will be mailed. Test results and information about Open House and other activities for the 2018-2019 school year will be included with report cards, so please make sure that you have updated all contact information with Ms. Fleming.

Have a great evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4c’s—Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community.
