Weekly Message–April 30-May 4, 2018

Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of April 30, 2018.

AP Exams are quickly approaching for our high school students enrolled in these courses. Students must participate in pre-administration sessions this week with Ms. Tuck Thomas to prepare their test documents. Students should listen carefully to all morning announcements and information given out by your teachers in class.

May 4 is our 1st Official Senior Signing Day! We invite all students, parents, and community members to come out and celebrate our seniors as they move on to college and the Armed Services. The event will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the gym.

Juniors and Seniors, can you believe the Prom is less than a week away? The last day to purchase a ticket is Wednesday, May 2. Please see Coach Barnes or Ms. Street for any last minute questions.

Due to low sales, the yearbook for this year will not be published.  Strawbridge is in the process of refunding online orders.  All monies payable to SCS will be refunded over the coming weeks in the form of a check.

Seniors this a friendly reminder that the Senior Trip payment is due this week.  Please see Ms. Barnes if you plan on attending.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11.  We are seeking parent volunteers on Thursday, May 10 to help the administrators with lunch duties so teachers may have a duty-free lunch. If you are available to provide about 30 minutes of your time on May 10, please register here:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e49ada82da2f58-scsteacher.

The last date for all clubs will be May 18.  No clubs will meet after this date.  Please plan accordingly.

We’re less than a month away from state testing. In preparation for testing, as our testing is done online, we will begin to collect student laptops on May 7. Most students will test May 24 – May 31.  All teacher-made and district Spanish exams will be given May 31 – June 6. Some students with accommodations may have an altered schedule in order to meet their needs.  We are always in need of proctors.  If you or someone you know are available to assist please contact our volunteer coordinator, Anita Neville in the main office.  There are morning and afternoon volunteer opportunities available.

Have a great evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4c’s—Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community.
