All Seniors who need to complete their CPR state requirement for graduation will need to see Coach Barnes on Monday during 1st period. We will be going over the material and testing next week so it’s imperative that you attend this week.


Students you asked for it and now you will get it. The 2nd Annual Pie In the Face fundraiser is back!! If you are looking to seek revenge on teachers and staff who gave you extra homework, or that pop quiz you weren’t prepared for and lastly that staff member who gave you buckets in a one one game well here is your chance. On Friday April 27th for $2 for teachers and $5 for administration you can throw a pie in their face. For $20 per teacher and $25 per administrator we will guarantee a direct hit at the person you choose. This is can’t Miss event unless you MISS!! The following teachers have accepted the challenge and are confident that your aim will be off: Mr. Dixon, Mr. Ferguson, Ms. Stefan, Mr. Cousins, Mr. Lewis, Ms. Shelly, Mr. Pantoja, Ms. A-R, Mr. Hartwell, Ms. Dix, Mr. Brotzman, Ms. Laws, Mr. Castro and Coach Barnes. This event is brought to you by the Prom Committee.


Juniors and Seniors, can you believe the Prom is 2 weeks away and it will be a epic night had by all. Are you prepared for prom…. Do you have your dress and tux ordered? Do you need a limo? Did I pick up my tickets? Did I fill out the guest form? If you need any questions answered please contact Ms. Street or Coach Barnes this week. The last day to purchase a ticket will be May 2nd so don’t wait until the last minute. Lastly those students who are seeking financial support please contact us immediately do not let money be the reason you miss out!!!


YMA would like to do a school supply drive for the 3 schools affected by the tornado in Greensboro in partnership with Old Navy. We will be collecting supplies next week (notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, construction paper, binders, expo markers, book bags folders etc.). We will place a box in the front hall to drop supplies off. We thank everyone in advance for your participation.

Recurring  Announcements

If you are interested in culture & history, the beach and food in a tropical environment then this is the trip for you! The tour for Spring 2019 will be beautiful Hawaii, USA. If you are interested in this trip, please attend an interest meeting on April 25 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Cybrary. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Sims.


Yearbook Club will meet Friday, April 20 until 5:15 p.m. in Room 239. See Ms. Bridges if you have any questions.


GSA members: we will be having an important meeting Monday, April 23. Amy from InsideOut will be our guest speaker. Please come out; there will be cupcakes.


Keep our Earth healthy! Students & staff are reminded to recycle & terra-cycle using the available bins in the front lobby and the cafeteria.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament PTSA Fundraising Event in partnership with YMA on Wednesday, April 25th at 3:00 p.m. – Spectator fee is $2.00. This will fund an exciting school lock-in event that has been requested by students!


Seniors: If you have not picked up your cap & gown, please see Ms. V. Barnes.


The vote for Prom Court will take place Monday, April 23 during your math class. Prom Court nominees need to buy a ticket or have a payment plan by April 20 or you will lose your spot. The cost of a prom ticket is $65.  Please see Ms. Street or Coach Barnes to purchase a ticket.


Hey Juniors and Seniors—Prom is May 5th! Have you asked your future date yet? If the answer is no, allow us to record it for you. Contact Ms. King-Limmitt, Cynthia or Marquel to set up a time and a date for the special proposal.


Seniors: Please continue to turn in your college acceptance letters to Ms. Settle. If you do not want your information announced or displayed, inform her when you turn in your acceptance information. If you have received financial aid award letter or scholarship information, please turn in that also. Also, Ms. Settle is receiving new scholarship opportunities. Don’t miss out on this FREE money.


It’s that time of year again—PBIS Celebration! The PBIS motto is GUARD and in order to attend you must follow the principles of GUARD. Your behavior determines if you can attend. If you receive detention or suspension you will not be able to attend.


Attention all students, staff and friends: Are you and your family looking to buy and new TV? Well, look no further than this 49 inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV that comes with a Roku TV remote. The TV, which is displayed in the cafeteria, can be won by buying a raffle ticket for $5 each or for $20 you can get 5 tickets. All proceeds will go towards the Prom Committee. You can purchase your ticket from Coach Barnes or Ms. Street. The drawing will take place on April 27. A picture and details for the drawing can be found on the SCS Facebook page.
