If you are taking any of the DPS Virtual Spanish courses online and are interested in getting free tutoring help for these courses, please see Mr. Castro in room 244 TODAY to express your interest and sign up for tutoring sessions for these courses. The administration and Mr. Castro would like to start a Saturday Academy to meet on those Saturdays when school will be open. We will meet from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. You must organize your own transportation if you want to participate and make sure you are picked up no later than 12:00 p.m. Once again, show your interest and sign up with Mr. Castro TODAY.
Thanks to all who submitted Box Tops for our Fall Submission. Check your homeroom’s progress on the Box Tops Classroom Campaign Board in the lobby. We are still collecting! Please continue to CLIP and submit your box tops in the black & white checker-box in the office. It is important to include your homeroom teacher’s name on a piece of paper in the bag with your box tops.
Attention all Seniors: November 13-17th is FREE College Application Week! Select colleges and universities will allow you to complete their application for FREE! We will begin the application process on Monday, November 13th in the cafeteria immediately following lunch. Check the High School Resource Wall for schools that are participating in CFNC College Application Week.
The PTSA is sponsoring a men’s clothing drive through Nov. 20. This is to support the Urban Ministries of Durham which is in very short supply and receives very few donations of men’s clothing. Please drop off your donations to the SCS front lobby during office hours.
The SCS Interact Club is sponsoring a movie night on Friday, November 17th. The movie will be Spiderman: Homecoming and will be shown in the Cybrary from 4:15 – 7:00 p.m. Admission is $2.00 and concessions will be sold including pizza, drinks, popcorn and something sweet. Join us for an evening of fun, food, and fundraising. Tickets will be sold at the door. Students should make arrangements for prompt pick up at 7:00 p.m. See you there!
Keep our Earth healthy! Students & staff are reminded to recycle & terra-cycle using the available bins in the front lobby and the cafeteria.
