Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your Weekly Message for the week of February 27, 2017.
Attention all high school students! Are you interested in a two-week residential program sponsored by DUKE TIP? If so, please see Mrs. Tuck Thomas for a brochure. The deadline to apply is February 27, 2017 and financial assistance is available.
YWE would like to thank everyone for participating in our Black History Month activities and all those who contributed to make our Black History Month Showcase last week a success. Tomorrow is our last spirit day where we invite everyone to wear traditional African clothing.
The ACT will be administered to all Juniors on Tuesday, February 28th. Please be prepared by bringing a hearty snack and arriving on time on that date. We ask that you bring a snack because the testing window means that your lunch will be later than normal.
As everyone is aware, the flu and cold season is upon us and has affected many of our students and staff during the past several weeks. In order to make sure we take the very best care of your child, we ask all of our families to adhere to the following:
- Please make sure we have accurate contact information so we can reach you when your child becomes sick at school.
- Please remember that students who have a fever, are vomiting, experiencing diarrhea or dealing with pink eye are not only miserable while at school but are sometimes contagious and placing others at risk for getting sick too.
- Please make every effort to pick up your sick child as quickly as possible when we call as we promise not to call unless your child is really sick.
While we love it when all of our students are in school and push hard for perfect attendance, we also know that when students are sick, it’s best for everyone for them to remain home until well and no longer contagious.
