Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of October 17, 2016.
I’m very excited to announce that I will be returning to work full-time and 100% healthy tomorrow! I’d like to thank the SCS Community for all of your well-wishes, cards, gifts, everything that you did to make me feel loved…a special shout-out to our wonderful PTSA for your personal touches.
Report cards went home with students on Friday. Please make sure that you have reviewed all contents of the report card envelopes and sign the envelope to return to your child’s homeroom teacher.
Parents of middle and high school students are invited to join us for College Night on Monday, Oct. 17, at Hillside High School from 6-7:30 p.m. The College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) and DPS will provide helpful financial aid information, including college costs, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information and CFNC resources. DPS will also provide an overview of counseling services and SAT and ACT assessment information. Spanish translation will be available. Please contact Althia Scriven, Family Academy, at ext. 22319 or Michelle Brossette at ext. 22223 with questions.
Parents of Classes of 2017 and 2018—Jostens will visit HS lunches on Tuesday, October 18th to take orders and deposits for class rings, invitation packets and caps and gowns. Students had a meeting with Jostens last week and received information to bring home. Please read this information carefully. The most expensive packages are listed at the top. Our current Juniors, class of 2018, will receive a free 2018 hoodie with any ring order. The class of 2017 seniors will receive a free T-shirt with any package purchased. You may order online, but free items are not available with online purchases. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Barnes.
Join us for our next PTSA Dine-Out Event on Tuesday, October 18th from 5-8. Visit Biscuitville at the 1129 W. Club Blvd. location for Biscuitville After Dark to support SCS. Our PTSA will receive 20% of the proceeds from that evening. You may eat in the restaurant or go through the drive thru, just remember to tell the cashier that you’re from SCS!
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 19th because school is dismissed at 2:00 p.m. for our next PLC Early Release Day.
Have a great evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4c’s—Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community.
