Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of July 25, 2016.

We are having a Back to School Spirit Wear sale.  All orders are due Wednesday August 3rd. This will be the only chance this year to have this many choices of designs, colors, and styles. Parents of current high school seniors, the time to start thinking about what’s next is here, and we are here to help! Please plan to attend the senior parent night on Thursday, August 4th from 6:00PM-7:30PM in the SCS cafeteria. Here you will receive important information about high school graduation requirements, college applications, community college, scholarships, financial aid and making the transition to college. A Spanish translator will be present for Spanish speaking families and light refreshments will be provided.

Please mark your calendars for our Annual Curriculum Night and General PTSA Meeting on August 11th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. This is our first PTSA meeting of the year and you will have an opportunity to follow your child’s schedule and meet all the teachers to hear about their plans for the school year.

Students must have a locker and returned their signed technology agreement before being issued a laptop. For new students or students who need to purchase a lock, the cost is $10. Teachers have copies of the technology agreement. The Technology Handbook can be found online at the SCS website. If you would like a hard copy, please notify your child’s homeroom teacher.   Sixth grade laptops have been ordered but have not been delivered yet.

Join our next EF tour to Greece. This is a 9 day trip scheduled for our spring intersession. This trip includes excursions to Athens, Olympia, Delphi, the island of Hydra, and so many more exciting destinations that students will recognize from their history classes and Greek god related novels. It’s a great trip that is open to 7th through 12th graders. Ms. Wash will get pertinent literature to students to help remind you of the interest/registration meeting on Wednesday Aug. 10 at 6PM in the Cybrary. If you are unable to attend, please contact Ms. Wash. You will find her contact information on our website or have your child stop by her room. Remember that space is limited, so don’t hesitate to get signed up. Hope to see you soon.

Have a great evening from all of us at SCS where we practice the 4c’s—Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community.
