A provision in the state Senate’s budget would have a huge impact on DPS’s year-round schools if the state House agrees to it. Only “multi-track” year-round schools such as those in Wake County, which serve additional students on a rotating schedule, would be allowed to continue to operate on a year-round calendar according to the Senate budget. This would affect Pearsontown Elementary, Easley Elementary, Rogers-Herr Middle, and The School for Creative Studies for the upcoming school year.
