Good Evening SCS Families. This is Ms. Price with your weekly message for the week of May 30, 2016.

End-of-Grade and End-of-Course Testing for all students begins tomorrow. Please make sure that students go to bed early to get plenty of rest and get a nourishing breakfast. Breakfast is available here at school for all students. Encourage them to do their best and remind them that they have been well-prepared all year. Students will report to the gym or the cafeteria when they arrive to school this week to allow their teachers time to prepare the test locations. Students will not be allowed to enter testing late, so make sure that they arrive to school on time. The testing schedule is posted on the school website, my blog, was sent home with progress reports, or can be picked up in the main office.

The Nasher Museum is hosting IMPACT Friday, June 3rd from 7 – 10 p.m. IMPACT! is a FREE party for teens who want to spend time with friends at the museum, create collaborative art with local artists, eat free food, and hear live music (teen DJ and teen bands), spoken word, and step! All performers are from local high schools. A bus will pick up at the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 7:30 pm and the Holton Career and Resource Center at 7:45 pm. Or bring friends and carpool to the museum. COPE Awards Celebration will be held on June 7th at 11:00 – 1:00. Please contact Ms. Lindon with questions.

The PBIS Committee is hosting a school-wide event for all students. Students will participate in fun and engaging activities from 2:00 PM – 4:00PM on June 8, 2016. This is our way of rewarding students for displaying positive behavior throughout the school. We are requesting parent volunteers to assist teachers with monitoring their events. Please contact Ms. Barnes with questions. Sign up here:
