Message from DPS–Afterschool Activities are Normal Today

As the TV show says, “winter is coming.” District staff are monitoring the weather forecasts, and will make a decision about tomorrow’s schedule when they have enough information. Here are some points to keep in mind, though:

·         Today’s after-school activities will go on as scheduled. The forecasts currently call for winter weather to begin late tonight, well after our staff and students are home. If that changes, we will let you know.

·         No decision has been made yet about the SAT administration this Saturday if school is canceled for students tomorrow. That decision might not be made until Friday.

·         If school is canceled for students tomorrow, the make-up day for both traditional and year-round schools is Monday, Feb. 15.

New Club–Movies with a Message

Love to watch movies and talk with friends about characters, how they’ve handled a challenge and how we can learn from them? “Movies with a Message” is a new club sponsored by Mr. Lewis. Once a week, we’ll start or finish a film, enjoy some popcorn, and discuss what we saw…totally casual and totally relevant. The first meeting is Wednesday, January 20th until 5 p.m. in room 206. All are welcome!
