Weekly Message March 16-20, 2015

The SCS PTSA will be hosting a luncheon for the SCS Staff on St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow, March 17th. We will have a salad and baked potato bar.  The PTSA will provide lettuce and baked potatoes.  We still need help to provide the sides, toppings and extras. Please send in any items with your child tomorrow.  THANK YOU in advance for supporting our staff and letting them know how much they are appreciated.  There is also a sign-up genius link on our website and on my blog.

Parents of rising 9th, 10th and 11th grade students please plan to attend the SCS High School Parent Information Night on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 6:00pm. You will have the opportunity to gain important information regarding course offerings, registration and graduation progression before signed registration forms are due. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Brown.

8th grade students and parents: You are invited to attend High School 101—Graduate Ready on Saturday, March 21st at Riverside High School from 9-noon.  Come hear information about what to expect in high school, graduation requirements, advanced academics, fine arts, and much more. Get excited and start preparing for high school now!

This is a reminder that school will be in session March 23-March 27 as make-up days from the inclement weather. These will be normal school days and transportation will be provided as normal.

Parent and students: Lost & Found is overflowing with outerwear, lunch boxes and lots of other items.  Now is the time to claim your belongings. Unclaimed items will be donated to the shelter during intersession. Come by Guidance anytime during the school day.

It’s registration time at SCS! Please return completed registration forms no later than Friday, March 20, 2015.  Any questions may be directed to Mrs. Brown or Ms. Hagan.

If you requested transportation for your high school student following tutoring sessions, we will be in touch with route information when we receive it from the Transportation Department. Transportation services will begin after intersession on April 13th.

All students who were admitted for the intersession camps will receive confirmation and transportation information as soon as we receive the routes.

We are running a book drive through March 27th to benefit Book Harvest, a Triangle non-profit that collects children’s books and provides them to children in need. We need books for all ages. Collection bins are located in the main lobby, Cybrary, and cafeteria.
