Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 10th. We will dismiss on the Early Release schedule. For SCS, this means we will dismiss at 2:00 PM.

Also mark your calendars and join us for a General PTSA meeting on Thursday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m.

8th grade Parents: The 8th grade students will be traveling to Greensboro to the Civil Rights Museum on January 30th. Permission slips and money are due by January 15th and should be given to Ms. Carr. Any parents interested in attending, please email Ms. Carr as your participation is welcomed.

On Friday we will welcome employees of United Therapeutics, one of our community partners. For the third year in a row, these kind folks have purchased brand new bikes for Team SCS and Trips For Kids, while also donating their time to build the bikes alongside our students. We look forward to having them visit to work with our students on Friday!

The end of the quarter is December 19th—now only 2 weeks away! Intersession runs December 22-January 9th. Students will return to school on January 12, 2015.

SCS Saturday Academy will begin January 24th. If your child is registered, you will receive written notification with bus routes and a reminder of the dates.

DPS will hold its spring AIG EXPO on January 27, 2015 at the Staff Development Center from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Community organizations will be present to share information about summer opportunities. This event is for everyone not just AIG students and their parents!
Don’t forget to visit the SCS AIG website link from our homepage. Information about upcoming events including Advanced Placement will be posted.

Remember that at SCS our mission is Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Community. Have a great evening!
