SCS PBIS/BADD Masquerage Dance Volunteers Needed

The SCS PBIS/BADD Masquerade Dance is this Friday from 4:15-8:30. The middle school dance is from 4:15-6:00 and the high school dance is from 6:30-8:30. If your child is attending the Dance, please consider signing up to chaperone and/or to donate snacks. We understand that “beggars can’t be choosers” but the donated snacks must comply with the DPS wellness policy. So we are asking for healthier items for snack donations — baked chips, popcorn, water, etc.
Thank you for your continued support.
FYI: PBIS=Positive Behavior Interventions and Support and BADD=Band Against Destructive Decisions

  1. Just found out that the kids had to buy the snacks I donated. This was not made clear. Very disappointed

    1. All of the money raised goes back into the PBIS fund and is spent directly on the students. This is one of the ways that we supplement what the school spends out of our budget on rewards for students throughout the school year. As students earn PBIS tickets, they may redeem them in the school store for items that they choose. We also have schoolwide celebrations and give students treats during these times. In addition, we are outfitting our Student Lounge that is a relaxing, fun space for students. We have received many donations for this space, but there are other things that we must purchase.

The dance was not a fundraiser for our PBIS program, only a reward for students, and I assure you that what was raised is only ever spent on students. I stated that concessions would be sold, and I’m sorry if it was not clear that we would sell the donations. I will be more clear in the future. If you would like reimbursement for your donation, please send me a receipt and I will be happy to do so.
