Weekly Message November 3-7, 2014

Adults aren’t the only ones who get a say this election day.  Kids Voting will take place on Tuesday November 4 as SCS students join students around the district casting ballots. Results will be released on http://kidsvotingdurham.wordpress.com/ on Wednesday.

As chilly weather is fast approaching, the SCS PTSA and Guidance staff is sponsoring a winter coat drive.  Please consider helping local students by donating gently used coats and jackets. Donated items may be delivered to the guidance office at SCS. Thank you in advance for your generous donation.

Parents, I’d like to remind you to please pick up on time following clubs. Teachers do not receive compensation for sponsoring clubs, and it is unfair for them to have to wait sometimes for up to an hour after clubs are over for students to be picked up.  For individual students who are frequently picked up late, your child will lose the right to stay for the club.

Ms. Hundredmark is in desperate need of volunteers for the state Cyclocross race Saturday, November 15th from 8:00 – 4:00 p.m.  We can use your assistance during any time but preferably in the early morning hours. We need assistance with parking, club table set-up, logistics, concession stands, etc.  Please contact Ms. Hundredmark for more details or to volunteer.

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 11th—there will be no school in honor of Veterans Day.  Wednesday, November 19th is a PLC Early Release Day. School will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m.
