Saturday Academy will be held this Saturday, March 22nd from 9:00-12:30 p.m. This will be our final session before intersession.
The end of the 3rd nine weeks is Friday, March 28th. We are still waiting for the Board of Education to decide on when we will make up our last inclement weather day. You will be notified as soon as a decision is made. Intersession for students is currently scheduled for March 31st through April 18th. Students will return to school on Monday, April 21st.
Community Education will be offering a spring intersession program for The School for Creative Studies and Rogers-Herr Middle School. It is called the CSI: Rookie Training Camp. The program will operate the weeks of March 31st-April 11th, 2014 and will be held at Rogers-Herr Middle School. The weekly fee will be $150.00 per student which includes: breakfast, lunch, snack and fieldtrips. There are still spots available and scholarships are available for SCS students. If you are interested in a scholarship, please contact Ms. Price.
The YE$ Robotics Institute is an intersession camp that will be held at SCS April 1-11. There is no cost to attend this camp and transportation is provided. It is designed to introduce students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and financial awareness. The YE$ program includes personal finance, money management, an entrepreneurship project, and a field trip to a major financial institution. Students also will learn to build and create simple programs for their robots through critical thinking, problem solving, and hands-on activities.
Both camps are only open to 6th & 7th graders. Registration forms have been sent home with students, but extras are in the main office.
The SCS Girls’ cross-country team is running a 5k for cancer research, and they need your help! The girls would like for you to Donate to their fundraiser. There are bins in the office, cafeteria, and School Store. Thank you in advance for your support!
