Weekly Message March 10-14, 2014

Tomorrow is Literary Character Day.  Seventh graders will come to school dressed as a character from one of the classic novels they have read recently.  Parents – please help your child complete a costume for this event. We are looking forward to a fun, educational day.

The field trip for Ms. Barnes’ 7th grade students to Glaxo Smith Kline has been rescheduled for March 24th

Community Education will be offering a spring intersession program for The School for Creative Studies and Rogers-Herr Middle School.  It is called the CSI: Rookie Training Camp. The program will operate the weeks of March 31st-April 11th, 2014 and will be held at Rogers-Herr Middle School.  The weekly fee will be $150.00 per student which includes: breakfast, lunch, snack and fieldtrips. There are still spots  and scholarships  available for SCS students. If you are interested in a scholarship, please contact Ms. Price.  

The deadline for registration for Advanced Placement Exams for our 9th grade students enrolled in AP World History has been extended until Wednesday, March 12th. Please contact the main office if you have questions.  

DPS will be hosting a “Welcome to High School 101” at Riverside High School on Saturday, March 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. This is designed for rising DPS 9th graders to receive information about what to expect in high school. Please look for more information from the district via Connect-Ed messages and the district website.
